The next stop is on Zarco Street, which completely surrounds Viana Palace, which curiously opens its exceptional gardens and courtyards at this time for those who wish to visit them. We will not talk about the Courtyards in Viana Palace in this section as we have already analyzed them in their section.

If we go back to our topic, the Courtyard on 15, Zarco Street is located inside a single family house newly built. It has porticos on its four sides, elegant basket arches supported on fine plain-shafted small columns, which give the complex a great plasticity and distinction.

Over the gallery on the left there is an indoor terrace. Here we can see a tile dedicated to Arcángel San Rafael, which was very typical in Córdoba, and different copper pieces. The gallery in front of the door is covered by a small roof, and it is decorated with filigree hutches and several hunting trophies. We can also see different capitals of columns around the courtyard, but they curiously do not work as such, but they are used as bases for some flower pots.

Besides, we are attracted by an adornment located on one of the sides of the courtyard, which imitates an old iron cannon. In the gallery on the left, attached to a pillar, there is a fountain with the statue of a kid as water dispenser. Many visitors have the tradition of throwing coins inside, maybe that brings them luck.

The floor of the Courtyard on Zarco Street is two different levels, and its pavement consists of bricks with squares of white and blue ceramic. The centre of the courtyard is decorated with a table, full of flower pots, and forge chairs, all of them white, which match with the rest of the elements in the courtyard, as the whole place has very bright colours to provide it with plenty of light.

All the terraces are decorated with hanging geraniums, and around the courtyard we can see, among others, pots with hydrangeas, alivias, anthuriums, madonna lilies, fuchsias, wax plant, redondos, ferns, St John’s worts, estefanotis, centaureas and viburnusof bloomed white bunches.

Of all the prizes awarded to the Courtyard on Zarco Street throughout the years, we could mention the prize to natural light in 1998, or the honorable mention in 2007.
