How can I recognize the guide?
Our guide will be carrying a white umbrella, wearing a white polo shirt, and wearing an ArtenCórdoba ID badge.
Are admission tickets included?
Admission tickets are included in the price for all our guided tours, except for the tours we run at the Mosque-Cathedral. In that case, we also offer the option of booking without the Mosque ticket, in case the customer already has one or needs an additional discount and therefore needs to get their ticket through the official Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba website.
Will the guide use radio guides (headsets) for the tour?
Radio guides are used for groups of more than 10 people on guided tours that include entry inside the Mosque-Cathedral or the Medina Azahara archaeological site, since groups larger than 10 people are required to use radio guides inside the temple or the site. The guide will provide headsets that have been properly disinfected beforehand.
What’s the maximum number of people in a group?
Groups are usually small to ensure we offer our customers the best quality experience. On exceptional days, such as public holidays or specific dates when demand for guided tours is higher, the group may grow to as many as 30 people.
Do I need to bring a printed confirmation voucher?
No, you can show the voucher printed or on your mobile phone or tablet.
What happens if I’m late for the tour?
First, we recommend calling us to let us know you’ll be running late, so we can give you instructions or move you to a different time slot if possible. Second, if you haven’t notified us that you’ll be late, our guides always allow a 5-minute grace period for all customers before starting the tour. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, the guide will already have started and you will lose your place on the tour, and therefore also your admission tickets to the monuments.
If we book several guided tours, can we get a discount?
The only discount we offer for booking several guided tours is if you book through our Special Offer Packs on the website.

Do I need to book my guided tour in advance?
Yes, it’s necessary. To properly manage capacity, it’s essential to know in advance how many people will be attending each tour. This is how we guarantee the comfort and safety of our customers.
Can I bring children and/or pets on the tour?
All our guided tours are designed for all audiences, so children are common on our tours. As for pets, they are not allowed inside the monuments, so in most cases they cannot join.
Are there any dress code rules to follow?
Mainly, men are not allowed to enter with their heads covered; this is not an issue for women. In general, the cathedral asks that visitors avoid clothing that is not appropriate for a cathedral.
Do I need to buy tickets in advance?
If you book a guided tour, the company takes care of the tickets directly. If the customer has already purchased tickets beforehand, they’ll simply need to pay the price of the guided tour.
Can I bring food into the monument?
You cannot eat or drink inside the temple. However, bringing water is not a problem.
Can I take photos?
Flash photography is not allowed inside. Tripods and similar equipment are also prohibited without authorization.
Once the guide’s explanation is over, can I stay inside the temple?
Under the temple’s regulations, the group must stay with the guide. Depending on the circumstances, some free time may occasionally be given to explore the monument on your own. But in general, the guide must always stay with the group.
Is the visit to the bell tower included in the guided tour?
The visit to the tower is not included; it’s a visit you do on your own, paying the amount set by the Cathedral Chapter.
If I’m late, can someone pass me my ticket so I can join the group?
Under our rules, the guide cannot hand out radio headsets to customers inside the monument, so it’s not possible to accommodate that request. We stress how important punctuality is. The guide can give a maximum grace period of 5 minutes, but must then start, since the rest of the group is waiting to begin on time.
I have difficulty walking. Is that a problem at the monument?
No, there isn’t much walking involved. In addition, if needed, the monument itself has wheelchairs available, which the guide will personally arrange to request when needed.
What’s the best time of day to take the guided tour of the Mosque?
Early morning or late afternoon are usually the best options, since there are fewer visitors and the temperatures are more pleasant, especially during the spring and summer months.
How long does the visit to the Mosque take, approximately?
The guided tour of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba usually lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes, during which the guide covers the monument’s most notable historical and architectural highlights.
Is there a luggage storage or lockers for suitcases or large backpacks?
The monument does not have a luggage storage service or lockers. For security reasons, you are not allowed to enter the Mosque-Cathedral with suitcases or large backpacks.
Can I bring a stroller or baby carriage into the Mosque?
Yes, strollers and baby carriages are allowed. The monument’s floor is flat, and most of the route is accessible and comfortable to walk through with children.
Are pets or assistance dogs allowed inside?
Pets are not allowed inside the premises, with the sole exception of accredited assistance or guide dogs, in accordance with current regulations.
Are there discounts on guided tours for children, students, or seniors?
Yes, we offer reduced or free rates for children depending on their age, as well as special conditions for certain groups. You can check the applicable prices and discounts directly during the booking process on our website.
What’s the difference between the daytime tour and the night tour (“The Soul of Córdoba”)?
The daytime tour lets you appreciate all the architecture, arches, and natural light of the monument in detail alongside an official guide. The night tour (“The Soul of Córdoba”) is an audiovisual light show run by the Cathedral Chapter that offers a different sensory experience, focused on telling the historical story through light and sound.
If I already have the official Mosque ticket, can I join your guided tour?
Yes, if you’ve already purchased your tickets in advance, you’ll only need to pay the fee for the guided tour service with our official guides.
How far in advance should I book the guided tour?
We recommend booking as far in advance as possible, especially during busy periods (spring, weekends, and public holidays), to guarantee availability of spots and your preferred language.
What languages are ArtenCórdoba’s guided tours available in?
We offer group guided tours mainly in Spanish, English, and French. For private tours or pre-formed groups, we also offer other languages (German, Portuguese, or Italian) — please contact us beforehand to check availability.
Is the tour suitable for children, or does it drag on for them?
It’s a thoroughly enjoyable tour suitable for all ages. Our guides adapt their explanations to keep the tour dynamic and engaging, sparking curiosity in both adults and children.

What happens if it rains on the day of my booking?
Guided tours run as normal on rainy days, since almost the entire tour of the Mosque-Cathedral takes place inside the covered temple. We only recommend bringing an umbrella for the brief explanation in the Patio de los Naranjos (Courtyard of the Orange Trees).
What exactly is included in the price of the tour with ArtenCórdoba?
The price of our tour includes the bus from Córdoba to Medina Azahara, an accredited guide-interpreter, the shuttle bus to reach the site, and, if needed, the radio guides so you can hear your guide. If you choose the option without the bus, it includes everything above except the bus from Córdoba to Medina Azahara.
If I drive directly to the site, do I need to go inside the visitor center?
No, the meeting point with the guide is in the parking lot. Once the group has gathered, the guide will check everyone in.
Is there a café?
Yes, of course.
How do I identify the ArtenCórdoba guide at the meeting point?
The guide will be wearing an ArtenCórdoba ID badge and carrying a white umbrella.
If I take my own bus to Medina Azahara, where and at what time do I meet the guide?
At 11:00 a.m. in the Medina Azahara parking lot.

How early should I arrive at the departure point or the Visitor Reception Center?
If you’re taking the bus from Córdoba, it’s best to arrive 15 minutes early, as the bus leaves on time. If you’re driving your own vehicle, arrive 5 to 10 minutes early at the Medina Azahara parking lot.
Do I have to pay for my admission to the site?
No, if you’re a European Union citizen, admission is free for you. If you’re a non-EU citizen, you’ll need to pay €1.50 per adult at the ticket office.
Do I have to pay for the shuttle bus that goes from the visitor center to the site?
No. If you came on the bus from Córdoba, it’s included in the price. If you came by car, the guide will take care of the payment.
What happens if I miss the bus from Córdoba or arrive late at the meeting point?
If you miss the bus, you can get to Medina Azahara by taxi or in your own vehicle. Remember to arrive early so you don’t miss the bus.
What is the cancellation or date-change policy for this tour?
If you notify us at least 48 hours in advance, you’ll receive a full refund. After that deadline, a refund will only be possible in cases of force majeure. Changing the date is subject to availability.
If I have a stroller/wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, is it advisable to visit the site?
In those cases, it’s not advisable, as there are many uphill and downhill sections, as well as several staircases.
Is there a discount for children, students, or seniors?
Yes, there is a discount for children and infants. However, we currently don’t offer any discount for students or seniors.
How long does the whole excursion last (including transport), and how much time is spent inside the site?
The visit lasts approximately three and a half hours, including the trip to and from Córdoba. We’ll spend at least an hour and a half inside the site.
Does the guided tour include admission to the Museum/Visitor Reception Center, or just the archaeological site?
Yes, the tour includes admission to the Museum/Visitor Reception Center and the archaeological site. If you take the night tour, only the site itself is visited.
Will I have free time after the guided tour to take photos or explore on my own?
Yes, after the explanations, our guides always leave a few minutes so you can take photos at your own pace.
Do you run night tours of Medina Azahara during the summer months?
Yes, between June and September we also offer the option of visiting Medina Azahara at night.
What kind of clothing should I wear for the tour?
Comfortable footwear and, if it’s hot, a cap or hat. Don’t hesitate to bring water to stay refreshed. Using an umbrella for sun protection is not allowed at the site.
Can I go up the towers of the Alcázar?
At the end of the guided tour, customers are free to stay in the monument and take the opportunity to stroll through the gardens and towers. If the customer continues with the guide to visit the Jewish Quarter, visiting the towers won’t be possible, since the schedule must be respected. However, there is always time set aside to visit the gardens.
If I’m late to the meeting point, can I go in and look for the guide inside?
In that case, the customer will have to pay for their own admission; the ticket already paid for with the guide is no longer valid, since the monument follows strict time slots. That’s why it’s essential to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
If I use a wheelchair or have some kind of physical difficulty, is it advisable to visit the monument?
As for wheelchairs, it’s not feasible. The Alcázar is not currently adapted for a comfortable visit, as there are many stairs. If you have difficulty walking, a visit is possible, but it’s ultimately up to you to decide.
How long does the visit to the Alcázar last?
The tour usually lasts between 50 and 60 minutes.
What does the guided tour include?
The guided tour covers the gardens of the Alcázar; the interior is currently closed for renovations.
What happens if it rains?
The tour normally runs as usual. In the event of exceptional weather conditions, we will follow the monument’s instructions.

Where does the tour begin?
Year-round, the meeting point is at the entrance to the Caballerizas Reales (Royal Stables). During the festival, the meeting point moves to the entrance of Córdoba’s City Hall, on Calle Capitulares. This is indicated in your booking confirmation. We recommend arriving about 10 to 15 minutes beforehand.
Can I take photographs?
In general, this is not a problem — residents are usually flexible about it.

During the competition, what is the meeting point?

When is the best date to visit the Patios of Córdoba?
The Patio Festival (the Popular Competition) is held during the first two weeks of May. This would be the best time, but it comes with large crowds of tourists. To avoid crowds, we recommend visiting in March, April, the second half of May, or in October and November, when the patios are in perfect condition.

Is it free?
“Free tour” means registration is free of charge; at the end of the tour, the customer rewards the guide’s work as they see fit, freely giving whatever amount they wish.
What happens if it rains?
Except in extreme weather conditions, the Free Tour runs as normal.
We can’t make a booking — there are more than 6 of us.
In that case, the system won’t allow the booking, because for groups of more than 6 people our company policy requires an advance payment of €6 per person. So if you’d like to take the Free Tour, you’ll need to contact our office to arrange the payment. You also have the option of booking a private tour, starting at €80 + VAT.
Can I pay with Bizum/card?
Our guides have a QR code that allows fully secure payment either way. That said, to pay via Bizum through this payment link, the customer needs to have merchant Bizum enabled on their account.
Can I bring a pet?
No problem at all — since it’s a free tour, you don’t enter any monuments.
How long does the tour last?
The tour lasts an hour and a half, up to a maximum of an hour and forty-five minutes.
Does the daytime Free Tour overlap with the night one?
They don’t overlap — the daytime tour visits the western part of the historic center, while the night tour visits the eastern part. However, the meeting point is the same.
